Description
This includes the video recording of the webinar.
This session helps prepare instructors to use the active learning pedagogy, specifically "Rousseau, Burke, and Revolution in France, 1791" online. Experienced Reacting professors Gretchen Galbraith and Joe Sramek discuss best practices for using the game in virtual classes, how to translate game mechanics online, and considerations for both synchronous and asynchronous platforms (including Slack and video conferencing). Based on our experience of the game on Zoom and Slack this July, they highlight the need for GMs to pay special attention to riots in a virtual game, while ensuring that the energy level of the game is still very high, and how to effectively use a platform like Slack to encourage faction collaboration, cross-factional interaction, and voting.
