Playtests Playtests last up to 3 ½ hours and offer authors a chance to watch experienced Reactors play a part of a game and offer feedback. To be considered for a playtest, games must have a complete game book and at least 15 completed roles at time of application and 20-25 completed roles by the time of the conference (biographies as well as victory objectives). Designers submitting for playtest sessions must submit their game materials with their proposal. Workshops |
There are two types of workshops offered at the GDC – game ideas or mechanics.
Game idea sessions offer authors the chance to give a brief presentation on a game and receive feedback and suggestions from audience members. You may “pitch” an idea for a game or ask for advice about a specific element of a game in development.
Mechanics sessions offer a perspective on game design and development that will aid attendees in thinking about their own games.
