2025 Game Development Conference

at Ferris State University

The annual Game Development Conference is travelling this year to Big Rapids, Michigan, hosted by Ferris State University from July 10-12, 2025. Interested in helping members of our community refine their games and add new titles to the Reacting catalog? Join us for playtests, game pitches, mechanics workshops, and more at what we've come to refer to as "RTTP summer camp."  Registration is open now!

PROGRAMMING

GAME PLAYTESTS are held each morning.  Six games are being playtested this year, from which you'll choose three to play; one each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

WORKSHOPS,  PRESENTATIONS  & PITCH SESSIONS take place in the afternoons. In these  sessions, you'll have the chance to explore mechanics and design principles, hear from your colleagues on their current projects, and  help troubleshoot new games-in-development.

GAME NIGHTS and other social opportunities happen after dinner--stay tuned for more information on this aspect!

SCHEDULE

Regular GDC events will run from 9:00 AM through 6:00 PM each day, with breaks included. Game Nights happen on Thursday and Friday nights from 7:30 until you tap out.

FULL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE PLAYTEST GAMES AND A DETAILED SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND AT THIS LINK.

The closest airport is Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, about one hour away from the Ferris State Campus.

Unlike years past, housing and meals will be off-campus, and at your discretion. For lodging, choose any of the nearby hotels (see a map here),

Coffee and beverages will be available during the conference, but breakfast (before 9:00 am), lunch (12:30-2:00) and dinner (6:00-7:30) will be on your own at any of the fast food or casual restaurants nearby. This map shows many options within a 15-minute walk of campus.
